Dylan Harper / Baseball

Dylan Harper is the son of five-time NBA champion Ron Harper. And much like his father, who averaged 13.8 points in his career with the Cavs, Clippers, Bulls and Lakers, Harper is considered a top-level scorer that isn’t afraid to defend and use his size to his advantage.

Harper grabbed headlines during the 2022-2023 season when he won MVP of the prestigious John Wall Holiday Invitational and then started January off with a 36-point outburst on Showtime TV against 2023 five-star DJ Wagner. His junior season at Ramsey (New Jersey) Don Bosco Prep ended with a 38-point performance against Bergen Catholic in the North Non-Public A semifinals. He finished the 2022-20232 high school season averaging 23 points. Harper is considered a consensus Top 20 player in the nation in the Class of 2024. He is ranked No. 1 in New Jersey and No. 8 in the country by 247Sports, and he’s rated No. 1 in New Jersey and No. 10 nationally by Rivals.com. He’s also rated a five-star recruit by ESPN and ranked No. 19 nationally. His strength is his versatility, and it’s the reason that Don Bosco (10-1) Don Bosco (10-1) enters this week ranked No. 1 in the North Jersey Top 25 rankings. He can play almost any position at either end of the floor. Harper showed his versatility during last week’s showdown against New Jersey’s No. 1 team, Camden, and its nationally-ranked senior, D.J. Wagner Jr. During an 83-68 loss, Harper scored a season-high 36 points, including four 3-pointers, and registered five rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block. (Playing in a more balanced lineup, Wagner, a Kentucky commit, was credited with 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals.) Harper averages 27 points per game, yet he doesn’t touch the ball as much as most 20-point scorers. The left-hander usually plays the wing, and his ability to shoot 3-pointers and drive to the basket makes him a threat each time he touches the ball.
